Definition & Purpose

This position provides direct customer service at the Information desk for a vibrant, multi‑cultural population in a busy city library.

Essential Functions

  • Serves mainly at the Information desk and performs a wide range of duties including but not limited to: providing excellent customer service, readers advisory, technology help, and research help
  • Assists with planning and implementing a variety of engaging library programs for adults
  • Assists with assigned collection development areas including maintaining the collection through weeding and creating attractive displays
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education

Master’s in Library Science from an accredited program. MLS candidate considered. Prior customer service desirable.
