This role leads and develops a team of Inventory Control Technicians and Process Support Operatives, building a high-performing, engaged workforce through clear direction, coaching, and inclusive leadership. Working cross-functionally with operations, planning, and wider business teams, the Inventory Team Manager plays a key role in ensuring seamless processes, proactively identifying and mitigating risk, and delivering against both departmental and site-wide targets. This is an opportunity to make a visible impact - enhancing stock integrity, strengthening team capability, and driving continuous improvement across the operation.
We are looking for an experienced people leader with deep knowledge of inventory and warehouse operations, who can combine analytical thinking with strong stakeholder collaboration to drive performance and results. A natural coach, able to build capability and create a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Lead Inventory Accuracy & Availability - Oversee stock integrity across site, managing discrepancies and ensuring accurate, compliant inventory to support seamless customer fulfilment.
- Drive Team Performance & Capability - Lead, coach, and develop the ICQA team, building capability and driving a high-performance, continuous improvement culture.
- Turn Data into Action - Use tools such as Excel and Power BI to analyse performance, track KPIs, and generate insights that improve quality, compliance, and operational outcomes.
- Own Audits, Standards & Continuous Improvement - Plan and deliver inventory audits, maintain robust work instructions, and lead root cause analysis to strengthen processes and reduce risk.
- Collaborate to Solve & Improve - Partner with operational teams and stakeholders to resolve issues quickly, share knowledge, and enhance capability across the wider site.
Who you are
- Proven Operational Leadership - Strong management experience within distribution, manufacturing, or similarly fast-paced environments, leading teams to deliver high performance and operational excellence.
- Inventory & Systems Expertise - Deep knowledge of warehouse planning and inventory control, with the ability to leverage WMS and automation systems to drive accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Data-Driven Decision Making - Advanced analytical capability with strong digital skills (Excel, Power BI, Microsoft tools), using insight to inform decisions and lead with confidence and clarity.
- Influencing & Stakeholder Collaboration - Confident communicator who builds strong cross-functional relationships, challenges constructively, and influences effectively to deliver shared goals.
