As the Associate Product Manager for Location, you'll play a pivotal role within the Location product management process from research, product planning and build, through to launch and implementation of a diverse and highly sophisticated system, through prioritisation and formulation of strategic goals. You'll be working as part of a team and contributing into a wider programme, creating scalable API based services which will be used across M&S's selling channels and enterprise wide, critical to our technology transformation.
What you'll do
- Work collaboratively with the senior product manager across M&S, particularly with the wider product team, technology delivery, and engineering.
- Contribute into wider programme(s) roadmap, refining the product roadmap, communicating it to wider teams and partners on a periodic basis.
- Translate business goals, user needs and technology transformation into a forward looking product roadmap.
- Identify and champion new opportunities or resolve pain points for M&S colleagues and customers.
- Responsible for the prioritisation of a backlog of work balancing requirements, optimising existing features, removing technical debt, and identifying quick wins versus pivotal initiatives.
- Support the business readiness for your features, collaborating closely with all parties (including 3rd party vendors) involved to clearly communicate what will be released.
- Track success metrics and support data analysis, customer feedback.
- Management of day‑to‑day questions, with the ability to troubleshoot issues.
Who you are
- Ideally, experience with supporting the design and delivery of product strategies and roadmaps, through to product launch and optimisation.
- Ideally, e‑commerce experience in building and launching various APIs, including API‑based products and services.
- Ability to independently analyse and resolve functional issues.
- Strongly analytical, attention to detail and logical approach to problem solving.
- Ability to document processes and design decisions, communicate clearly, and have experience translating technical terms into non‑technical language.
- Interested in understanding interactions between technology systems, key technology health metrics (i.e. uptime, SLOs) and their impact on the customer experience.
