As a Senior Retoucher at Marks, you will play a critical role in ensuring the high-quality and consistency of our digital assets. Your responsibilities will include retouching and enhancing images, collaborating with CGI artists, photographers, art directors, and team members. You will have the opportunity to work on industry-leading consumer packaged goods and premium brand technology projects, contributing your expertise to deliver exceptional visual content.

Critical Skills and Behaviors
  • Image Retouching: Utilize advanced retouching techniques to enhance and perfect digital images, maintaining the intended style and aesthetic. Correct color, exposure, and composition with precision and attention to detail. Compositing CG and photography into one image. Firm understanding of light and color. Experience and expertise with print processes, proofs, and colour targets. Experience upressing and utilizing AI in potential workflows. Strong file management skills and adherence to details and file/final deliverable protocols.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with CGI artists, producers, photographers, and art directors to understand project objectives and deliver retouched images that align with creative visions. Provide constructive feedback and guidance to junior retouchers to elevate the team's performance.
  • Quality Control: Conduct final quality checks to eliminate errors and ensure images are client ready. Review the work of other colleagues to ensure consistency and quality across all projects.
  • Process Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and retouching techniques to continually enhance workflows and capabilities. Propose and implement process improvements for increased efficiency and quality.
  • Client Interaction: Occasionally engage with clients to understand their specific retouching needs and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Leadership: Lead and mentor junior retouching team members, fostering their professional growth and development. Demonstrated ability to work with remote teams efficiently. Stay current with industry trends, technology, and AI, to remain relevant and innovative. Proactive attitude with the ability to take ownership of projects from start to finish.
Minimum Requirements
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience as a retoucher in a commercial photography or advertising agency.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and other relevant retouching software.
  • Strong knowledge of color correction, image compositing, and non-destructive editing techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistency across a large volume of images.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
  • Leadership skills to mentor and guide junior retouching team members.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with remote teams.
  • A portfolio showcasing your expertise in image retouching and your understanding of brand building and design.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software tools, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe Bridge).
