We are currently seeking a 3D/CGI Global IT lead to join our dedicated global team based here in the UK. This is a remote working role. We’re looking for a 3D/CGI Global IT Lead to take ownership of our global creative infrastructure and keep our teams running at peak performance.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee the smooth running of our global AWS environments, high‑performance workstations, servers, and artist‑centric software.
- Partner with business leaders to define standards and ensure smooth global 3D/CGI operations.
- Act as the bridge between IT and non‑technical teams, understanding workflows, challenges, and production needs.
- Lead day‑to‑day IT operations across global 3D/CGI locations, ensuring systems, networks, and artist tools run reliably.
- Manage and support 3D/VFX technologies (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max, Nuke, V‑Ray, Deadline, Flow).
- Oversee installation, upgrades, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and infrastructure.
- Support AWS‑hosted systems across multiple regions and ensure strong monitoring, backups, and escalation processes.
- Provide regional IT infrastructure support and travel to sites as needed.
- Track project progress, risks, and outcomes while promoting accountability and clear communication.
- Assist Service Desk teams with ticket prioritisation and issue resolution.
- Maintain accurate documentation for workflows, systems, and network operations.
- Manage backup solutions and ensure system health across assigned regions.
- Produce metrics, reports, and communications for Global IT leadership.
- Perform additional duties as required.
What you’ll need
- 10+ years of IT support experience, including 5+ years in a 3D/CGI production environment.
- Strong understanding of VFX/CGI pipelines and artist workflows.
- Hands‑on experience with major CGI tools (Maya, 3ds Max, Nuke, V‑Ray, Deadline, Shogun).
- Experience with storage platforms such as Nasuni, Nutanix, or Isilon.
- Proficiency with AWS and Azure, including cloud rendering environments.
- Strong background in Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and TCP/IP troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with enterprise software licensing management.
- Excellent communication skills in English; French or Spanish is a plus.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Graphic Arts, or related field (or equivalent technical certification).
