Overview
In this role you will shape the financial strategy for the M&S Brands unit, partnering with senior leaders to drive growth across Partner Brands, Sports, Wholesale, Consignment, and Dropship.
You’ll lead planning, budgeting and forecasting, evaluate new propositions and investments, and steer transformation to scale profitability.
You will challenge commercial plans across functions while ensuring robust governance and risk management.

Responsibilities
- Lead financial strategy, planning, budgeting and forecasting for the Brands business to sustain sales, profit and cash growth
- Partner with senior leaders to shape investment decisions and long-term commercial strategy
- Evaluate new propositions, partnerships, acquisitions, category expansion and customer growth initiatives
- Lead business cases, profitability improvements and transformation initiatives including operating model evolution
- Provide robust commercial challenge across Buying, Merchandising, Planning, Marketing, Supply Chain, Online and Finance while maintaining governance and risk controls
- Key requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or Equivalent)
- Experience partnering senior stakeholders in a complex retail, consumer or commercial environment
- Strong strategic and analytical capability with track record of turning growth plans into robust outcomes
- Experience leading investment appraisals, business cases and transformation programmes with measurable value
- Strong governance, planning and performance management expertise with a growth mindset
