You'll be working as part of a team and contributing into a wider programme, creating scalable API based services which will be used across M&S's selling channels and enterprise wide, critical to our technology transformation.

We are looking for someone that has experience in leading products teams through shaping product visions/strategy, execution of API based services and demonstrating business and customer impact.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the product development of the domain team, where you will be building transformational capabilities to be used across all of M&S.
  • Work collaboratively across M&S, particularly with the wider product team, technology delivery, and engineering.
  • Contribute into wider programme(s), refining the product roadmap, communicating it to wider teams and partners on a periodic basis.
  • Translate business goals, user needs and technology transformation into a forward looking product roadmap.
  • Identify and champion new opportunities across M&S's digital selling channels.
  • Accountable for the prioritisation of a backlog of work balancing requirements, optimising existing features, removing technical debt, and identifying quick wins vs pivotal initiatives.
  • Lead the business readiness for your features, collaborating closely with all parties involved to clearly communicate what will be released and when.
  • Assume shared accountability for the operational health of your product, reporting on agreed performance metrics.

Who you are:

  • Experience with successfully designing and delivering strategies and roadmaps, through to product launch and optimisation.
  • Ideally, ecommerce experience in building and launching various APIs, including API-based products and services.
  • Excellent analytical and logical approach to problem solving.
  • Superb communication and experience translating technical terms to partners/stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.
  • Proficiency in understanding interactions between technology systems and understanding of key technology health metrics (i.e. uptime, SLOs).
  • Proven successful delivery in an Agile software environment to deliver customer-led outcomes.

What’s in it for you?

Working at M&S means being part of something bigger - helping to deliver quality, value and service to millions of customers every day. We’re inclusive, fast-moving and always evolving, with a strong sense of purpose and a focus on doing the right thing.

Here are just a few of the benefits that make working here even more rewarding:

  • 20% colleague discount on all M&S products and many third-party brands for you and someone in your household, available once you’ve completed your probation.
  • Competitive holiday allowance with the option to buy more.
  • Discretionary bonus schemes linked to your performance and ours.
  • Strong pension and life assurance to help plan for the future.
  • Tailored induction and training to support your development from day one.
  • Exclusive perks and savings through our M&S Choices portal.
  • Market-leading family policies, including parental, adoption and neonatal leave.
  • 24/7 wellbeing support, including virtual GP access and mental health services.
  • One paid volunteer day a year to support a cause that matters to you.
