Everyone is welcome at M&S. No exceptions. It’s your background, abilities and differences that make you, uniquely you. And when you’re part of M&S, that individuality has the potential to make waves.

We’re reshaping our Food business to broaden its appeal, protecting the magic our customers love while modernising everything else. That means outstanding quality, high sourcing standards, and market-leading innovation remain at our core, while we transform our supply chains, improve our stores, and deliver better value. We’re looking for motivated people ready to bring their whole self to work and thrive in a fast-paced, ambitious team. After all, this isn’t just food… this is M&S Food.

You’ll play a central role in shaping how products move across our network, leading complex value chain optimisation projects that genuinely shift how we work. This role is for someone who thrives in ambiguity, is energised by the challenge of building new frameworks from scratch and is confident influencing senior leaders. You’ll need to be comfortable operating at pace, working autonomously, navigating shifting priorities and solving problems that span procurement, logistics, commercial and operations. If you prefer very fixed structures, steady business as usual routines and a narrow remit, this role is unlikely to suit you. If you’re motivated by unlocking value, improving how things work end to end and delivering measurable impact, you’ll find plenty of opportunity here.

Due to high interest, this role may close earlier than advertised. We recommend applying as soon as possible.

What you’ll do

  • Lead value chain optimisation projects that uncover inefficiencies, shape new ways of working and deliver measurable improvements across cost, flow and performance.
  • Build clear, data led business cases that define the problem, quantify benefits and secure alignment across supply chain, logistics, commercial and finance teams.
  • Plan and manage projects from end to end, setting scope, timelines and milestones, tracking risks and ensuring delivery with minimal day to day guidance.
  • Partner closely with colleagues across Food Operations, Logistics, Category Supply, Technology and key suppliers to gather insight and turn it into practical improvements.
  • Embed successful initiatives into everyday ways of working, ensuring benefits are tracked, reported and sustained through clear processes and governance.

Who you are

  • You bring solid supply chain experience, understanding how products flow from suppliers to depots to stores and where value and efficiency can be unlocked.
  • You are highly analytical, confident working with large datasets and modelling scenarios to provide clear, evidence based recommendations.
  • You are an organised project manager who can structure work, balance multiple priorities and keep momentum without needing close supervision.
  • You are a clear, confident communicator who builds trusted relationships and can influence senior stakeholders across different functions.
  • You are curious and proactive, comfortable challenging existing ways of working and helping others to adopt new processes and behaviours.

What’s in it for you?

Working at M&S means being part of something bigger - helping to deliver quality, value and service to millions of customers every day. We’re inclusive, fast-moving and always evolving, with a strong sense of purpose and a focus on doing the right thing.

Here are just a few of the benefits that make working here even more rewarding:

  • 20% colleague discount on all M&S products and many third-party brands for you and someone in your household, available once you’ve completed your probation.
  • Competitive holiday allowance with the option to buy more.
  • Discretionary bonus schemes linked to your performance and ours.
  • Strong pension and life assurance to help plan for the future.
  • Tailored induction and training to support your development from day one.
  • Exclusive perks and savings through our M&S Choices portal.
  • Market-leading family policies, including parental, adoption and neonatal leave.
  • 24/7 wellbeing support, including virtual GP access and mental health services.
  • One paid volunteer day a year to support a cause that matters to you.
