Join our Digital Product team as an Associate Product Manager – Self Checkout, and play a critical role in shaping the future of M&S. An Associate Product Manager will support the performance and evolution of the Self-Checkout experience, with a specific focus on the SeeChange skip-scan capability. Working cross-functionally with engineering, loss prevention, and store operations, the role will monitor performance, analyse data, and prioritise enhancements to improve detection effectiveness, reduce shrink, and minimise friction for customers. They will act as the day-to-day product owner for this capability, ensuring issues are identified and resolved quickly, supplier performance is managed, and the product continuously improves in line with business and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Governance of environment usage, booking, and change control.
- Maintain asset lifecycle visibility; retire obsolete kit promptly.
- Ensure Health & Safety compliance across all sites.
- Collaborate with product teams to plan space for emerging tech pilots.
- Coordinate with in-store teams.
- Perform regular audits for readiness, compliance, and optimisation.
- Report on utilisation, incidents, and lifecycle status to leadership.
Skills & Experience
- Solid understanding of store technology stacks (POS, IoT, RFID, CCTV).
- Experience in environment and release management.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety standards and RAMS.
- Ability to manage asset lifecycle and coordinate refresh cycles.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Awareness of emerging technologies and incubation processes.
