Join M&S as a Customer Assistant in our Food section, where you’ll be at the frontline of the UK’s fastest growing retailer. We’re looking for down-to-earth colleagues who thrive under pressure, deliver five-star service at pace, and embrace the transformation we’re driving. We’re seeking passionate individuals who take pride in knowledge of M&S Food products and are ready to roll their sleeves up and meet strong customer demand head-on day in and day out.

Work pattern:

  • Sun: 22:00 – 07:00
  • Mon: 22:00 – 07:00
  • Sat: 22:00 – 07:00

This job involves working through the night and we can’t consider applications from anyone under 18, to comply with health and safety legislation and to keep colleagues safe in the workplace. Please note that the +£3.00 p/h unsocial premium is only added on hours worked between 22:00–06:00.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a resilient, committed brand ambassador who confidently recommends and sells our newest food products to customers.
  • Deliver remarkable service to ensure customers feel valued every time they shop with us.
  • Work in a high-pressure environment, staying sharp, fast, and focused during busy periods, and go above and beyond to serve, sell, fill and drive growth in sales.
  • Utilise digital tools (e.g., Sparks and in-store devices) to enhance the customer experience and ensure customers get what they need when they need it.
  • Contribute to a positive, high-energy team environment and support colleagues to deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Be flexible to work across various areas of the store and adapt to changing retail demands.

Qualifications and attributes:

  • 18+ (due to the night shift requirement)
  • Digitally confident and capable with store devices and shop-floor technology
  • Strong team player who supports others and works well under pressure
