This role exists to drive Own Brand Home & Beauty category and marketing product priorities, bringing product pull, customer insight, and category clarity to the heart of M&S Marketing. As Product Marketing Manager for Own Brand Home & Beauty, you will be the dedicated marketing partner to the Home & Beauty Business Units, embedded in product development, innovation, and product planning cycles. You ensure category strategies, product stories, and propositions are shaped early, grounded in insight, and carried through consistently from product creation and planning through to activation.

You represent the customer voice and help elevate Home & Beauty storytelling through clear, product-led excellence, ensuring innovation, quality, value, and performance credentials are translated into compelling customer-facing propositions. Working closely with the Head of BU Marketing, Strategy & Planning, and Brand Marketing campaign leads, you support the development and delivery of the Own Brand Home & Beauty category marketing strategy. You work collaboratively with Brand Marketing on key campaigns and seasonal moments to identify hero product lines, while also planning all-year-round newness, hero, and core product stories that drive sustained performance.

This is a hands-on product marketing role, ideal for someone with a strong interest in Home and/or Beauty categories, product marketing, and innovation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the development and delivery of the Own Brand Home & Beauty category marketing plan, aligned to BU priorities, customer needs, and commercial goals.
  • Translate product, innovation, and range plans into clear, insight-led product propositions, defining how Home & Beauty shows up across the year.
  • Support the translation of annual BU priorities, category marketing plans, seasonal planning, and product and category stories.
  • Act as the Category Marketing partner embedded in key product forums, working closely with Buyers, Designers, Developers, and Technologists to translate technical information into clear, customer-relevant marketing stories.
  • Represent the customer voice at the start of the product and innovation process and support insight briefs that strengthen Home & Beauty propositions and storytelling.
  • Support the integration of Home & Beauty category and product strategies into the annual and seasonal Marketing Strategy.
  • Input into category planning for key seasonal and campaign moments (e.g. Spring refresh, gifting, value moments, Christmas).
  • Support hero product identification for campaigns based on customer, brand, and commercial impact.
  • Create clear Own Brand Home & Beauty category propositions and briefs to hand over to Brand Marketing.
  • Partner with Trading to identify near-term commercial opportunities.

Who you are:

  • Strong experience in product marketing, product innovation marketing, or brand marketing.
  • Genuine interest in Home and/or Beauty categories, product development, and innovation.
  • Proven ability to translate product and insight into compelling category strategies and product stories.
  • Commercially minded with a good understanding of trade and performance drivers.
  • Confident influencer across matrix teams.
  • Skilled in insight translation, storytelling, and briefing.
  • Clear, confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
