Our Castle Donington Distribution Centre is fast, flexible, agile and ever evolving to support the growth of our online business. As we increase its efficiency to accommodate higher volumes of customer orders. Are you someone who loves to take the lead and relishes responsibility? Then we have a great opportunity for Operations Team Managers on Week 2 Nights to join our Outbound Chamber.

As a Team Manager your role will be to lead and empower our colleagues, by utilising your leadership, coaching and development skills. Your focus will be on delivering the right products to the right places at the right time for our M&S customers while ensuring a safe, supportive, and high‑performing work environment for your team. Our site Team Managers on Nights follow our two‑week rota pattern. The start and finish times vary slightly dependent on the area. The contracted hours for this role are 40.25 hours averaged over a 2‑week period. The start time includes 30 minutes of shift preparation, for guidance the start and finish times are circa 17:30am to 6:00am, but this does vary slightly dependent on area.

What you’ll do:

  • Proactively managing people issues (including wellbeing, absence, talent and performance management).
  • Ensuring consistent application of policy and advice.
  • Actively promoting colleague engagement ensuring colleagues feel valued and supported.
  • Managing operational processes to improve the opportunity for productivity.
  • Supporting Shift Managers in planning, managing and adjusting staffing levels during the shift, aligned with planned and flexed volumes to support delivery of site Key Performance Indicators as defined by customer requirements.
  • Driving a positive culture of health and safety through leading by example and following the standard process requirements.
  • Driving cross‑functional working as one team to ensure delivery of site targets, working at every stage to exceed customer expectation.

They will need to be proactive, self‑starters who thrive in a fast‑paced environment. Who understand the impact of commercial decisions both on the site and on other areas of the business, while maintaining focus on our external and internal customer requirements for quality, efficiency and accuracy. In addition, they will need a flexible approach to work and be willing and able to adjust to the demands of a changing and agile environment.
