What you'll do

We’re on a mission to triple the size of our international business within five years, and we’re not thinking small. This bold ambition demands a complete transformation of how we plan, deliver and innovate in marketing. It’s about redefining what it means to grow a global brand and creating a strategy that resonates across every market we touch.

To make this happen, we’re looking for a visionary transformational marketing leader, someone who is as commercial as they are creative, and ready to partner with our International Director, Marketing Director, Head of International Marketing and the team directly, to:

  • Lead the transformation: Set the vision, define the strategy, and deliver it with impact
  • Reinvent processes: Reset critical paths and reshape how work gets done—bridging the gap between UK and International teams across wholesale, franchise, owned, marketplaces, and D2C
  • Embed a global mindset: Drive cultural change and champion new ways of working that position M&S as a truly global brand with a truly global marketing team and strategy

We require a highly experienced and visionary International Head of Marketing Transformation to lead this critical transformation. This isn’t a role for maintaining the status quo, it’s a mandate to reinvent how our brand connects with customers worldwide.

As International Head of Marketing Transformation, you’ll define and execute a unified, customer-centric strategy that accelerates growth, elevates brand salience and brings the magic of M&S to every market. You’ll be the change agent who integrates global thinking into every marketing function and touchpoint, ensuring we deliver creativity, consistency and commercial impact at scale.

Shape the future: Develop and champion a bold, unified international marketing strategy that defines our brand positioning, target customers and value proposition globally.

Operational overhaul: Reorganise and upskill the global marketing team, ensuring roles, responsibilities, and processes are fit for future growth and raise the bar on performance.

Cross functional collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Design, Merchandising and all touchpoints to embed new global processes and drive cultural change (embed global mindset).

Tell our story: Reinvent the brand identity and narrative, ensuring creative consistency across every touchpoint; PR, digital, social etc.

Global PR, social media & influencer strategy: Develop a powerful, modern global communications, PR and social media strategy focused on high-impact editorial placement and leveraging high-value celebrity/influencer partnerships (including M&S Insiders and local social accounts) to enhance global brand salience and visibility.

Who you are

  • Proven experience progressive marketing leadership experience
  • Proven success in brand transformation within complex, high-profile businesses
  • Expertise in traditional brand building and digital performance marketing (including ecommerce experience)
  • Deep understanding of global fashion and consumer trends, including emerging tech
  • A track record of delivering creative, commercial campaigns at pace
  • Experience leading and inspiring high-performing teams
  • Visionary leader: Inspires teams and stakeholders with a compelling brand strategy
  • Challenger mentality: Possesses the courage to challenge established practices and propose unconventional, high-impact solutions
  • Commercial & creative: Balances strategic thinking with innovative execution
