How We Hire

Everyone is welcome at M&S. No exceptions. It\’s your background, abilities and differences that make you, uniquely you. And when you\’re part of M&S, that individuality has the potential to make waves.

About the role

This section tells you all you need to know about the position and its responsibilities, outlining everything we hope to see in a successful candidate.

Summary

Do you love retail and want to be part of a team that directly influences product availability and customer satisfaction across our UK and Ireland stores?

Then we have exciting 12-month Fixed Term opportunity for a Network Dispatch & Store Stock Planner to join our Network Planning team who are responsible for ensuring our customers get the products they love through a service they trust

All the details

In this role, you\’ll take ownership of network flow plans and processes, driving availability, sales, and cost efficiency across our warehouse and transport network. You\’ll also be responsible to translate the Fashion, Home & Beauty commercial plans into a dynamic short-term network forecast (5 weeks), ensuring UK and Irish stores have the right stock at the right time to meet business goals.

We are looking for someone who can manage short-term forecasting, adapt plans quickly to changing priorities and interpret data and trends. So, if you are commercially minded with strong analytical and problem-solving skills then why not apply?

What you\’ll do

Your key accountabilities will include

  • Monitoring availability and store stocks to maximise opportunities for sales performance in stores
  • Setting and monitoring pick capping and prioritisation parameters
  • Identifying planning inaccuracies and providing analytics and insights into root causes, helping define Key Performance Indicators (KPI\’s) for allocation input owners and providing clear and visible tracking against KPI\’s
  • Ensure the BUs are keeping within the agreed stock parameters, i.e., Store Stock Capacities / Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDQ) and Supply Chain Planning (SCP)
  • Run weekly network review calls with logistics. Reviewing the 5-week flow plan, flagging any changes or risks.

Who you are

Your skills and experience will include

  • Proven experience in Supply Chain Planning principles and managing logistics distribution networks
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong analytical skills to interpret and present complex data
  • Familiarity with business IT and MI systems (e.g., Power BI, Business Objects, Aqua Data Studio, MS Azure Storage Explorer).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with strong time management and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • High level of accuracy and ability to work independently, ensuring continuity of business-as-usual activities when required.

What\’s in it for you?

Working at M&S means being part of something bigger – helping to deliver quality, value and service to millions of customers every day. We\’re inclusive, fast-moving and always evolving, with a strong sense of purpose and a focus on doing the right thing.

Here are just a few of the benefits that make working here even more rewarding:

  • 20% colleague discount on all M&S products and many third-party brands for you and someone in your household, available once you\’ve completed your probation
  • Competitive holiday allowance with the option to buy more
  • Discretionary bonus schemes linked to your performance and ours
  • Strong pension and life assurance to help plan for the future
  • Tailored induction and training to support your development from day one
