My client is currently looking for a Trading Analyst based in London . You will be responsible for supporting traders and managers by reporting, researching, and calculations and working on any “ad hoc” requests assigned by the team /line manager.

MAIN JOB FUNCTION:
As an integrated member of Product Trading team, the primary responsibility of the job holder
will be assisting my client with the following:
– Support to traders and managers;
– Reporting, research and calculations;
– Work on any “ad hoc” requests assigned by the team /line manager.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Support traders in the following activities:
• Analyse market data in order to help developing and executing trades. Ensure exposure
position and P&L reports are accurate;
• Ensure physical transactions are booked accurately;
• Ensure a correct booking of derivatives transactions;
• Set up, maintain and improve a cargo tracking system (vessels b/l, destination, WS rate.)
• Deal with Middle Office for P&L, exposure and pricing reconciliation;
• identify problems, breaking them down into components, and devising effective
solutions
2.Prepare various reports, spreadsheets and research projects:
• Market analysis (supply and demand, global crack spreads, margins)
• Weekly internal presentation of P&L, physical and paper activity
• Daily update of excel sheet, reflecting market structure and movements
• Arb and Crack calculations
• Track refinery turnarounds
• Shipping Cargoes Tracking
3.The role may also require assistance with the following tasks:
• Risk management and market monitoring
• Dealing with Shipping Department, Operations, Contracts and other Trading desks
including Overseas offices in Houston and Singapore as instructed by traders;
• Interacting with Counterparties (including my clients Group divisions) as instructed by traders.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED
– University Degree in a Quantitative Studies (Engineering, Math, Statistics, Physics or
IT) or Economics/Finance
– 3+ years minimum of relevant experience in the trading business
– Advanced knowledge of Excel/VBA. Knowledge of SQL and Python is a plus.
– Ensuring accuracy in data analysis and reporting
– Ability to evaluate information objectively and make reasoned judgments.
– Prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
– Ability to develop skills such as strategic thinking, decisiveness and risk awareness.
