Group Accountant – Reading (3 days in office) – Salary to £50,000 to £60,000
Weworked with this company last year and have to say everyone that I have spoke to has been lovely! This role has come about as the chap that was in post has had an internal promotion and needs to replace himself as he looks to grow the team further.
Ideally suited to a first time mover this is an exciting and blended role, brilliant for your first move out of practice, you will be reporting into Group Financial Reporting Manage,r he himself was Audit trained at PWC before making to the move to this company.

When I met the hiring manager and asked him what the core responsibilities of the role were he replied with;
- Internal & External Audit
- Stat Accounting
- Acquisitions Accounting
- Project Accounting
There is obviously more to the role than this but this is where he sees you spending most of your time, the more formal job description is below;
- Looking after and completing the group reporting (UK & EMEA) on a monthly basis
- Prep of the consolidated management accounts and commentary pack
- Looking after group consolidations
- Preparing consolidated group forecasts
- Setting up and integrating newly acquired companies into the group
- Preparing balance sheet recs and reviewing group balance sheets
- Helping with the consolidated budget process
- Looking at implementing new financial reporting policies
About you….
- Ideally a first time mover from a Top 10 Practice
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
- Hot on excel to SUMIFS, VLOOKUP and PivotTable level
- Able to communicate well as you will have regular contact with the Group FD, Group CFO, Head of Financial Reporting
- Able to create relationships among your team mates
Salary & Benefits….
- Salary is circa £55,000 to £60,000 plus a small end of year bonus
- 4% Pension
- 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays

Ideally we are looking for a first time mover, trained at a top 10 practice, qualified looking to move into industry.
Although a large part of the role is getting hands on with Acquisitions Accounting, you don't need to have hands on experience but must have a understanding of "how this works" with a "wider pitcture" mind set, you'll need to be able to pivot mentally at times due to the speed and variety of work.
