Our FTSE-listed client in the real estate and investment industry is looking for a new Property Accountant to join their team in London. Reporting into the Financial Controller, this is a key position where you will take ownership of the financial management and reporting of a portfolio of properties.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage all financial matters related to your property portfolio.
- Produce month-end management accounts, including VAT, bank and control account reconciliations.
- Ensure full understanding and accurate reporting of rent, service charge and recovery fund balances each month.
- Oversee property cashflows to ensure timely supplier payments.
- Review service charge compliance and support process improvements.
- Raise income demands in line with internal timetables.
- Prepare quarterly accounts for management companies and reconcile variances.
- Resolve or escalate issues promptly and provide ad-hoc analysis when required.
- Support the setup of new sites and contribute to departmental targets and deadlines.
- Work with Accounts Payable and other accounting teams to clear outstanding service charge void invoices.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Service-Charge/Property Accountant, with exposure to accounting in a commercial property environment. The client is looking for someone with strong technical ability and communication skills to support the wider operational finance function and partner with on-site teams. Strong systems experience and exposure to systems migrations will also be a bonus.
