Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee end-to-end payroll operations across: Weekly payroll/Monthly payroll
- Process high-volume payroll for approximately 1,600 UK employees
- Ensure all payrolls are delivered accurately and in line with deadlines and compliance requirements
- Supervise a team of 3 payroll staff, providing guidance and support
- Manage payroll queries and resolve escalations efficiently
- Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation (tax, NI, pensions, statutory payments)
- Maintain and validate payroll data integrity within the system
- Produce and review payroll reports, reconciliations, and submissions
- Work closely with HR and Finance to ensure smooth payroll operations
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in a Payroll Manager or Senior Payroll position
- Strong experience managing high-volume payroll (1,000+ employees preferred)
- Hands-on experience processing both weekly and monthly payrolls
- Essential: Sage Payroll experience
- Previous experience managing or mentoring a small team
- Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
