Fund Controller - Private Credit (15-Month Contract)
Rate: £600-650 per day via umbrella, depending on experience The Opportunity An outstanding opportunity with a leading global alternatives investment manager for an experienced interim Fund Controller to join its high‑performing Private Credit Finance team on a 15‑month maternity cover contract.
This broad, commercially focused role supports a portfolio of direct lending and private credit funds, including both closed‑ended and evergreen structures.
Working alongside investment professionals, senior leadership and leading external service providers, you will play a key role in overseeing fund operations, financial reporting and governance across the full fund lifecycle.
This position would suit someone who enjoys ownership, stakeholder interaction and working within a sophisticated institutional investment environment.
Key Responsibilities Take ownership of a portfolio of private credit fund structures, ensuring efficient operational and financial oversight.
Review quarterly NAVs, financial statements, investor allocations, management fees, carried interest and distribution calculations.
Produce and oversee quarterly and annual investor reporting.
Monitor fund liquidity, cash forecasting and treasury activities.
Partner closely with investment teams on transactions, fund launches and capital activity.
Manage relationships with third‑party fund administrators, custodians and auditors, ensuring high service standards.
Coordinate annual audits and oversee governance requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
Prepare board papers and present fund updates to boards and governance committees.
Analyse fund performance, returns, valuation movements and hedging impacts.
Act as a key contact for internal stakeholders including Portfolio Managers, Investor Relations, Legal, Tax and Compliance.
Mentor junior team members.
Candidate Profile A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA, CPA) Significant experience in private credit, direct lending Strong technical fund accounting and fund control expertise.
Excellent understanding of fund structures, legal documentation and fund operations.
