An established organisation is seeking a Financial Planning Analyst to take ownership of Opex reporting, cost control and Capex tracking for its Cheltenham site. This is a key role for a Qualified Accountant who enjoys delivering accurate financial insight and partnering with the business to drive performance.

The Role

You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of monthly Opex reporting, providing clear analysis and supporting operational leaders in understanding cost drivers and budget performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Full ownership of Opex accounting, reporting and cost centre management
  • Month-end responsibilities including Opex P&L, prepayments, accruals and intercompany
  • Developing reporting tools and improving automation and accuracy
  • Investigating variances, resolving miscoding and reviewing trends throughout the month
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and overhead reviews
  • Tracking Capex spend against budget and major projects
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and management reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls, accounting standards and audit requirements

About you

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA or CIMA)
  • Strong systems capability with advanced Excel skills
  • Confident communicator able to work with financial and non-financial stakeholders
  • Able to build strong cross-functional relationships
  • Comfortable working under pressure and managing deadlines
  • Analytical, proactive and committed to continuous improvement
