A leading energy and commodities organization is seeking a Senior Digital Business Analyst to support a wide range of technology and process initiatives across their trading business. This role is positioned at the heart of the organization’s digital transformation and will have a strong focus on middle office change, where a significant proportion of upcoming project activity will take place.
Working within a fast‑paced trading environment, you will partner closely with Front Office, Middle Office, Risk, Finance, Back Office, and Technology teams to understand business needs and translate them into practical, data‑driven solutions. The middle office focus means you will be heavily involved in initiatives that improve trade lifecycle visibility, P&L and exposure reporting, operational controls, reconciliations, workflow optimisation, and the broader systems that sit between trading and downstream functions.
You will support the full application lifecycle, taking responsibility for requirements definition, overseeing enhancements, driving analysis across interconnected systems, and ensuring solutions are aligned with the business's trading and operational priorities. The role requires someone who can maintain an end‑to‑end view of the application landscape while navigating the complexities of a high‑volume, live trading environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Shaping and documenting detailed requirements
- Facilitating workshops
- Prioritising enhancements with stakeholders
- Managing dependencies across middle office and trading systems
- Supporting the evolution of applications into more cloud‑native, data‑centric architectures
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in an IT‑focused environment within energy or commodities trading, with a solid understanding of middle office processes and the technology landscape that supports them. Experience with ETRM systems is a strong advantage, though not essential. A proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and comfort operating within a fast‑moving trading organization are key.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys complex problem‑solving, thrives in a trading environment, and wants to contribute directly to modernising and streamlining middle office capabilities within a global organization.
