Business Analyst
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the delivery of business transformation and system improvement initiatives, with a particular focus on Accounts Payable (AP), Purchasing, and Procurement processes.
The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, project teams, and technology partners to analyse current processes, define future-state requirements, and support the implementation of new systems and process improvements.
This role is ideal for a Business Analyst who has delivered AP or Purchasing system projects, possesses strong process mapping and documentation skills, and has experience cleansing and validating data to support successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand current processes, challenges, and business objectives.
- Elicit, analyse, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and process review sessions.
- Translate business requirements into detailed user stories, process flows, and functional specifications.
- Process Analysis & Improvement
- Analyse existing Accounts Payable and Purchasing processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop current-state ("As-Is") and future-state ("To-Be") process maps.
- Recommend process improvements aligned with business goals and system capabilities.
- Support business process standardisation initiatives across departments.
- System Implementation & Change Delivery
- Support the implementation, upgrade, or optimisation of AP, Procurement, Purchasing, or ERP systems.
- Work closely with project managers, solution architects, vendors, and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist with solution design reviews and ensure business requirements are accurately reflected in system configurations.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test script creation, execution, and defect management.
- Data Management
- Perform data analysis, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation activities to support system migrations and implementations.
- Work with stakeholders to identify data quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure data is accurate, complete, and fit for business use before migration or system go-live.
- Documentation & Governance
- Produce high-quality business process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and training materials.
- Maintain project documentation, requirement traceability, and change logs.
- Support governance processes and ensure delivery aligns with project standards and methodologies.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst delivering business and technology change projects.
- Demonstrable experience working on Accounts Payable (AP), Purchasing, Procurement, or ERP system implementations.
- Strong process mapping skills using tools
- Experience producing process documentation, SOPs, business requirements documents, and functional specifications.
- Experience cleansing, validating, and analysing data as part of system migration or transformation projects.
- Strong requirements elicitation and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting UAT planning, execution, and defect resolution.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to facilitate workshops and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
