An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and progressive Bookkeeper to join a dynamic team within a forward-looking accountancy practice. This role is ideal for someone keen to move beyond traditional bookkeeping methods and fully embrace cloud-based technology to enhance efficiency and client service. You will take ownership of a varied client portfolio while contributing to the ongoing digital transformation of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Portfolio Management
- Oversee the day-to-day bookkeeping for a diverse range of small, owner-managed businesses
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely processing of transactions
- Develop and sustain strong client relationships
- Digital & Software Utilisation
- Work extensively with Xero and Dext to manage and streamline workflows
- Identify opportunities to improve processes through technology
- Support the adoption of digital tools both internally and with clients
- Core Accounting Duties
- Deliver comprehensive bookkeeping services including: VAT returns, Credit control, Bank reconciliations and ledger management
- Payroll knowledge is advantageous but not essential
- Accounts Support
- Assist in the preparation of management accounts and year-end accounts
- Collaborate with senior staff on client deliverables
- Driving Transformation
- Actively contribute to the shift toward fully digital workflows
- Promote modern accounting practices and efficiencies
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices
Candidate Requirements
- Experience
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice is essential
- Proven ability to manage a portfolio of clients independently
- Technical Skills
- Strong working knowledge of Xero (certification desirable)
- Experience using Dext or similar applications
- Confident in cloud-based accounting systems
