We are seeking an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join a well-established, fast-paced organisation on a fixed term basis (up to 10 months) to cover maternity leave. This is a key role within the finance team, ideal for someone who can hit the ground running and quickly add value in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare weekly and monthly management accounts in line with reporting deadlines
- Maintain balance sheet integrity, including reconciliations
- Deliver budgets, forecasts, and reforecasts in collaboration with operational teams
- Provide variance analysis with clear, actionable insights
- Support year-end audits and statutory reporting
- Act as a finance business partner to operational stakeholders
- Produce detailed cost analysis (including labour, overheads, and product costing)
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators
- Drive improvements in financial controls, processes, and reporting
- Support finance system enhancements and integrations
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
- Mentor junior finance team members and build strong cross-functional relationships
Essential
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong experience in a management accounting role
- Proven background in budgeting and forecasting
- Excellent balance sheet and reconciliation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong Excel and financial systems expertise
- Able to start at short notice or immediately available
