Management Accountant
North Bristol, 12 month Fixed-Term Contract (Maternity cover)
Hybrid working (minimum 1 day per week from home, with flexibility for 2 days)
£45,000 - £55,000
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join a well-established manufacturing business on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This role offers exposure to operational finance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment and would suit an accomplished management accountant who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, analysing performance, and driving continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
- Produce monthly management accounts and support month and year-end close processes
- Analyse financial and operational performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
- Provide detailed cost and variance analysis, investigating root causes and supporting corrective actions
- Partner with site leadership to improve financial and operational performance
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with relevant accounting policies and procedures
- Assist with audit requirements and reporting obligations
- Deliver accurate and timely financial information to support business decision-making
- Contribute to process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function
About You
- Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role
- Manufacturing experience is essential
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into meaningful insights
- Experience of working with ERP systems
- Comfortable working independently while building strong relationships across the business
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience candidates will all be considered
