A growing and highly entrepreneurial group is looking to appoint a technically strong Group Accountant to join its central finance function. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with exposure to multiple entities, commercial operations, and group-level reporting.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will take ownership of core month-end processes, consolidated reporting, forecasting, and financial analysis, while also playing a key role in improving systems, controls, and reporting capability across the wider group. This role would suit someone who enjoys getting into the detail, understands the importance of strong financial controls, and wants to develop within a commercially driven business.

The Role

  • Preparing monthly management accounts and consolidated group reporting packs
  • Managing accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and detailed variance analysis
  • Supporting the production of budgets, forecasts, and cashflow reporting
  • Partnering with operational stakeholders to provide financial insight and performance analysis
  • Developing KPI reporting and cost centre analysis to support strategic decision-making
  • Supporting the enhancement of financial systems, controls, and reporting processes
  • Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function
  • Ensuring accuracy and integrity across month-end and reporting cycles

The Candidate

  • Have previous experience within a management accounts or group finance environment
  • Be studying towards ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or AAT
  • Possess a strong understanding of month-end accounting processes and financial controls
  • Be technically strong with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Have experience using Sage or similar accounting systems
  • Be confident handling large volumes of financial data and interpreting commercial performance
  • Demonstrate strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Thrive in a hands-on, evolving business environment
