Location: London (Hybrid)
Day Rate: £400 - £500 per day via umbrella
We are recruiting for a Qualified Financial Accountant to join a fast-scaling Fintech operating in the global payments space on a 6-Month Contract. The candidate must be a Qualified Accountant and ideally with Financial Services experience (preferably Fintech/challenger bank or boutique FS firm) and experience producing Statutory Accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and oversee accounting entries prepared by offshore or local bookkeeping teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and intercompany positions
- Support monthly and annual close activities, ensuring reconciliations and schedules are complete and well‑documented
- Prepare monthly management reporting and assist with statutory accounts under UK GAAP and relevant local standards
- Assist with indirect tax, payroll, and other regulatory filings, ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met
- Act as a key contact for auditors, preparing audit packs and responding to queries
- Maintain and enhance internal controls across accounting processes
- Provide historical financial data to support budgeting and forecasting exercises
Experience Required
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CPA)
- Candidates must be immediately available to start employment or on a max 2 weeks' notice
- Solid grounding in financial reporting, statutory accounts, and control environments
- Previous background in Audit (preferred)
- Confident systems user; exposure to ERP platforms (NetSuite highly desirable)
- Aware of international accounting standards and multi‑entity reporting is an advantage
- Strong communicator able to work effectively across international teams
- Comfortable working independently in a fast‑paced, evolving business
