I'm recruiting a Payroll Specialist to provide operational support to Payroll Team Leadership and help deliver a high-quality payroll, pensions and expenses service. You'll play a key role in ensuring accurate, compliant processing, meeting SLAs/KPIs, and driving continuous improvement through standardisation, automation and stronger controls.
Key Responsibilities
Provide support to Payroll Team Leadership to enable consistent delivery of high-quality payroll and pensions services across the business.
Deliver against agreed service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring outcomes align with wider business objectives.
Take ownership of assigned areas of responsibility, proactively solving problems, sharing knowledge across the team, and supporting a culture of accountability and collaboration.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, pensions and colleague expenses within your assigned remit.
Maintain full compliance with internal controls, statutory requirements and relevant regulatory frameworks (including HMRC, pension legislation, and audit standards).
Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, building effective relationships with Finance, People/HR, the wider business and third-party providers.
Support governance requirements by managing risk, resolving issues and ensuring appropriate controls are followed (within your area of responsibility).
Identify and deliver process improvement opportunities, with a focus on standardisation, automation and reducing manual intervention to improve efficiency and employee experience.
Act as a subject matter expert in payroll and pensions administration, providing knowledgeable guidance and support to stakeholders.
Skills & Experience
Strong experience in payroll processing and payroll administration in a fast-paced environment.
Solid knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements (including HMRC).
Experience administering workplace pensions and understanding key pension legislation and governance requirements.
Proven ability to work to SLAs/KPIs with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
