Job Description
Fund Controller - Private Equity (3 Month Contract)
Rate - £475-575 per day via umbrella
About the Role
Our client is a purpose-driven private equity style ESG fund specialising in sustainable investments. They are seeking an experienced Interim Fund Controller to join their finance team on a 3 month contract.
You will be working closely with the investment, operations, and senior leadership teams, as well as external stakeholders, including auditors, fund administrators, and investors. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded fund finance professional with strong experience in private equity, real estate, or infrastructure closed ended funds.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day financial management of investment funds, ensuring accurate accounting, reporting, and compliance
- Liaise with third-party fund administrators and service providers to ensure timely NAV production and investor reporting
- Support the preparation of quarterly and ad-hoc financial reports for senior management and investors
- Assist in structuring, reviewing, and implementing fund governance, controls, and operational best practices
- Partner with the investment team to provide financial oversight during deal execution and fund-level transactions
Selection Criteria
- ACA/ACCA/ACMA/CPA or equivalent accounting qualification
- Prior experience as a Fund Controller or senior fund finance professional in private equity, real estate, or infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of fund structures, investment vehicles, and limited partnership agreements
- Hands-on experience working with fund administrators and auditors
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
- Commercial mindset and problem-solving capability with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
