An established alternative investment firm is undertaking a significant upgrade of its portfolio management infrastructure (PMS) and is looking for an experienced Portfolio Data Migration Consultant to join the project on an interim basis.
Sitting at the intersection of investments, finance, operations and technology, the role will focus on ensuring the firm's investment data is accurate, complete and ready to migrate onto a new Portfolio Management System (PMS).
This is not simply a data-cleansing exercise. You will need to understand what sits behind the numbers.
Working across a portfolio spanning private equity and direct lending, you will interrogate investment data and reconcile key attributes back to underlying records and legal documentation.
This could include reviewing loan characteristics, investment terms, transaction data, investment-period end dates and other critical portfolio information.
You will identify inconsistencies and missing information, work with the relevant teams to resolve them and help establish a reliable dataset ahead of migration.
Following migration, you may also support reconciliation, testing and UAT to ensure information has transferred accurately and the new platform operates as intended.
What we are looking for
You are likely to have gained your experience within portfolio monitoring, fund control, fund operations, investment operations or middle office in an alternative investment environment.
You should bring
- Strong knowledge of alternative investment products, ideally including private equity and private credit/direct lending.
- Experience working with investment and portfolio data and the ability to understand the commercial meaning behind individual data points.
- Previous involvement in a Portfolio Management System implementation, migration, upgrade or data project.
- Excellent Excel and data-manipulation skills. SQL / Power Query skills would be useful.
- The ability to reconcile system data against source documentation and investigate discrepancies rather than simply flagging them.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a structured approach to data quality.
- Confidence working across investment, finance, operations, legal and technology teams.
Previous experience with Dynamo would be highly advantageous, although candidates who have worked on comparable alternative-investment PMS platforms will also be considered.
