Fund Controller - Private Credit - London - Hybrid
Contract role: 12 months +
Rate Β£450-Β£550 per day via umbrella
The Role & Company
An excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded alternative investment manager with a leading private credit platform at an exciting stage of its development.
The business is continuing to expand, with increasing complexity across its fund structures, investment strategies and asset classes. Alongside that growth, there is significant investment being made in technology, systems and automation, creating an environment where the finance function is evolving rather than simply maintaining existing processes.
The Fund Control team has broad responsibility across fund reporting, performance analysis, valuations, administrator oversight and investor reporting. This role therefore offers considerably more exposure than a traditional fund accounting position.
You will join a collaborative, high-quality team with a strong culture and approachable people, while benefiting from the strong brand and infrastructure. There is genuine scope to take ownership, broaden your responsibilities and develop as the platform continues to grow.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the quarterly NAV and fund reporting process, working closely with third-party administrators.
- Review capital activity including drawdowns, distributions, equalisation, carried interest and waterfall calculations.
- Analyse fund and investment-level performance, including key performance metrics and attribution.
- Review quarterly investor reporting and contribute to annual financial statements and the audit process.
- Support the investment valuation process and gain exposure to increasingly sophisticated fund structures, leverage and FX strategies.
- Work closely with Investment, Investor Relations and Finance teams on investor requirements, reporting and ad-hoc analysis.
- Contribute to cash-flow forecasting, process improvement, technology implementation and automation initiatives.
- Develop a strong commercial understanding of fund structures and their underlying partnership agreements.
Experience & Qualifications Required
We are looking for someone with approximately 2-5 years' relevant experience gained within fund finance at a private markets firm, or fund administration.
You should ideally have:
- You must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or similar)
- Experience within private markets / alternative investments; private credit / debt funds experience is key.
- Strong fund accounting experience within closed ended funds and experience of Luxembourg funds structures.
- Proactive mindset, the ability and desire to take ownership rather than simply process information allied with strong communication skills
