A successful Venture Capital firm is looking for a qualified Corporate Accountant to join its finance team on an initial 3-6 month contract. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a broad, hands-on role with responsibility for the corporate accounting and financial reporting across a multi-entity investment business. You will also manage one member of the finance team and work closely with senior stakeholders.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Production and review of consolidated management accounts and financial reporting
- Budgeting, forecasting and management information
- Coordination of statutory accounts and year-end audit
- Oversight of tax, regulatory reporting and other compliance requirements
- Cash management, treasury and foreign currency exposure
- Review of payroll, expenses, purchase ledger and intercompany accounting
- Supporting the CFO with wider finance and business projects
The remit covers a genuinely broad mix of management reporting, statutory accounts, tax, budgeting, team oversight and treasury.
The Candidate
You must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) with experience working in a similar role within a smaller alternative investment firm. Experience within Venture Capital, Private Equity, Private Credit or a comparable investment management business is essential, alongside:
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
- Experience within a multi-entity environment
- Previous management or supervisory responsibility
- Strong Excel and financial systems skills and open to using AI tools
- A hands-on approach and ability to operate effectively within a small finance team
