We are recruiting for an established investment business that is undertaking a significant upgrade of its Real Estate finance and technology infrastructure. They are looking for an experienced contractor who can bridge the gap between Fund Accounting and Technology, with a particular focus on complex investment data, SQL and systems migration.

This is a broad, hands-on role. You will work closely with Finance, Investment and Technology teams to understand how accounting and investment data currently flows through the business, identify potential data and reconciliation issues and help prepare the environment for migration onto a new platform.

A major part of the assignment will involve interrogating and analysing large financial datasets using SQL, understanding relationships between funds, investments, entities, transactions and balances, and ensuring information remains complete and accurate as it moves between systems.

You will also help develop migration and reconciliation processes, investigate data discrepancies, support testing and conversion activity and resolve issues arising across reporting and existing production processes.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Strong SQL Server / T-SQL skills
  • Previous experience of a fund accounting, investment accounting or finance systems migration
  • Good knowledge of fund accounting and complex investment structures
  • Experience working with financial data across multiple fund entities, investments and reporting periods
  • Strong data analysis, mapping and reconciliation experience
  • The ability to investigate complex data issues and identify the underlying cause
  • Previous experience within Real Estate Investment Management, Real Estate Debt or wider Alternatives would be highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of investment/fund accounting platforms and technologies such as eFront, Aladdin, MRI, Databricks or Power BI would also be useful, but is not essential.

The successful candidate will be joining a high-quality business with an excellent working environment, taking ownership of an important project.
