A fast-growing, Essex-based property and construction consultancy is seeking a Structural Engineer to join the business in a newly created in-house role. The consultancy delivers structural engineering services across the built environment, working on domestic, residential, commercial and industrial projects. With current turnover of c.£5m and clear plans to scale significantly over the next four years, this role offers the chance to grow alongside the business and play a key part in its next phase.
You will provide structural design and engineering input across a varied project portfolio, working closely with surveyors, project managers and external design teams.
Project Types- Domestic new builds, extensions, loft conversions and basements
- Housing developments
- Commercial, office and industrial schemes
- Structural alterations and existing building appraisals
- Structural engineering design using masonry, steel, concrete and timber
- Production of calculations for Building Control submission
- Foundation and frame design
- Contractor support including temporary works and method statements
- Coordination with clients, architects and contractors
- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Experience in a UK consultancy environment
- Strong technical and practical design capability
- Confident communicator with a collaborative approach
- Chartership (or working towards) is advantageous but not essential.
