A great opportunity to join our high‑performing Fabrics team at M&S, playing an integral role at the heart of product creation. The team operates in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, with a strong and supportive culture. We’re looking for a Technical Admin Assistant who is organized, proactive, and keen to learn. This role is ideal for someone at the early stages of their career in fashion or product development, with a genuine interest in fabrics and a desire to grow within a technical function.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day‑to‑day running of the fabrics team, managing key data, tracking fabric developments and samples, and preparing for meetings and fit sessions.
  • Ensure quality and performance standards are consistently met, while gaining end‑to‑end exposure to the fabric lifecycle.
  • Contribute as an active member of the team to work within a commercially focused culture and support the Fabric Technologist and Sustainability teams where required.
  • Understand PLM system – Including CP Management and reporting.
  • Be aware of fabric development process and support Fabric Technologist to upload supporting documents to PLM.
  • Communicate information to Fabric Technologist, Project Managers and wider Fabric & Sustainability team.
  • Support technology teams with PLM fabric library management to ensure clean data input, consolidation of like materials and correct documentation is available for approval and traceability.

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of garment and fabric technology.
  • Computer literate, strong Excel skills and knowledge of PLM systems.
  • Good organisational skills and an eye for detail.
  • Multitask orientated with the ability to work to deadlines to achieve the Buying critical path.
  • Understanding of Marks & Spencer buying process.
