Bring your technical expertise to one of the UK\'s most trusted brands. At M&S, we\'re looking for a Product Development Technologist to join our Home Textiles team on a 6-month fixed-term contract.

In this exciting role, you\'ll help technically develop market-leading products that not only delight our customers but also set us apart from the competition. You\'ll manage the delivery of product specifications, innovation, safety, compliance, and ethical standards - ensuring every item reflects the quality and integrity M&S is known for.

What you\'ll do

Your key accountabilities will include

  • Deliver clear specifications on Design Tech packs & relevant tenders, to include all raw materials, blocks, size chart, construction, components and performance standards.
  • Critical path - ensure all technical deadlines are met in line with BU critical path and continually working to optimise Leadtime whilst maintaining product technical standards
  • Manage adherence to product safety, compliance and ethical standards in line with legislation and corporate policy
  • Ensure all PLM data is accurate at tech pack stage to include material details and components added to BOM, blocks, measurements, colour coding, innovation and Plan A
  • Working closely with raw material suppliers and where relevant with the Central fabric technology team, to ensure quality feedback and innovation is embedded into the material strategy and seasonal material workshops

Who you are

Your skills and experience will include

  • Expert in the field of technology including manufacturing of product, construction and manufacturing of fabric / raw materials and promotional claims
  • Excellent communication skills within C&H Technical Function, Design and Buying, Supply Base and Global Sourcing Offices
  • Multi tasked orientated working to tight deadlines while maintaining entrepreneurialism
  • Capable of interpreting customer data to shape future product development strategy
  • Experience of briefing and specifying direct design sourced product, working with Buying and Design teams to create Tech Packs
