At M&S, we’re on a mission to share the magic of M&S with customers everywhere. Our goal is simple yet ambitious: to make our exceptional Fashion, Home & Beauty, and Food products accessible to people around the globe. To achieve this, we’re accelerating growth in our international business—transforming how we operate, driving change at pace, and reimagining processes to deliver seamless experiences for every customer.

Are you a performance‑driven paid media specialist ready to optimise campaigns and unlock growth across leading digital marketplaces? Then we are looking for an Assistant Marketing Manager to drive performance across key digital marketplaces, supporting the delivery and optimisation of paid media activity with a strong focus on hands‑on PPC execution.

All the details

The role plays a critical part in planning, launching and continuously refining campaigns across Amazon Ads (including Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display), alongside managing paid activity on platforms such as Zalando and About You. We expect a structured, performance‑led approach to ensure campaigns are effectively paced, aligned to commercial objectives and delivering against key metrics. Close attention to detail and strong trading discipline underpin success, from managing bids and budgets to optimising search terms and maintaining product coverage.

Working in partnership with Amazon agency partners, the role ensures clear briefing, strong output quality and alignment with wider trading priorities. Ongoing performance analysis is central, with a focus on identifying opportunities, resolving challenges and driving improvements across traffic, conversion and operational efficiency. Collaboration sits at the heart of this position, working cross‑functionally with trading, brand and content teams within established creative frameworks to maximise campaign performance.

It is important to note this role is not focused on brand creative development and does not replace agency‑led creative or large‑scale marketplace expansion resources—instead, it is dedicated to executional excellence and performance optimisation in paid media.

What You’ll Do

  • Own end‑to‑end PPC execution across key marketplaces, leading the planning, launch and optimisation of campaigns across Amazon Ads and other priority platforms.
  • Manage and optimise paid media activity across Amazon, Zalando and About You, ensuring campaigns are structured, paced and delivering against performance targets.
  • Act as the key point of contact for Amazon agency partners, delivering clear briefs, reviewing outputs and ensuring activity aligns with commercial priorities.
  • Monitor campaign performance daily, identifying opportunities and resolving challenges across traffic, conversion and operational drivers while maintaining strong trading hygiene.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with trading, brand and content teams to maximise performance, proactively highlighting risks or gaps that could impact campaign delivery.

Who You Are

  • Proven hands‑on experience in PPC and paid media execution, with strong expertise across Amazon Ads and marketplace platforms, gained in‑house, at Amazon or within a specialist agency.
  • Deep understanding of marketplace performance metrics and trading KPIs, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights that drive commercial outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, confident collaborating with agencies and senior partners, and recognised as a clear, effective communicator across cross‑functional teams.
  • Highly organised and detail‑focused, with the ability to operate at pace in a fast‑moving environment while maintaining accuracy across campaign execution and optimisation.
  • Experience working within complex, matrixed organisations, with exposure to European marketplaces such as Zalando and About You, and an understanding of DSP planning or reporting frameworks.

What’s in it for you

  • 20% colleague discount on all M&S products and many third‑party brands for you and someone in your household, available once you’ve completed your probation.
  • Competitive holiday allowance with the option to buy more.
  • Discretionary bonus schemes linked to your performance and ours.
  • Strong pension and life assurance to help plan for the future.
  • Tailored induction and training to support your development from day one.
  • Exclusive perks and savings through our M&S Choices portal.
  • Market‑leading family policies, including parental, adoption and neonatal leave.
  • 24/7 wellbeing support, including virtual GP access and mental health services.
  • One paid volunteer day a year to support a cause that matters to you.
