If you thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two weeks look the same, this is the role for you.

We're looking for a commercially minded analyst who's passionate about transforming data into meaningful, actionable insight. You'll partner with colleagues across Foods including Supply Chain, Retail, Product and more to shape decisions that influence both day to day performance and long-term strategy. This is a high impact role where you'll craft compelling narratives, champion innovation and help drive smarter, faster decision making across M&S Food.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver a varied portfolio of strategic, complex and ad hoc analytical projects from high impact store trials to major commercial questions providing clear, evidence-based recommendations that shape Food performance.
  • Take ownership of ambiguous problems, structuring them into robust analysis and driving them through to actionable insights with pace and precision.
  • Translate datasets into compelling stories that influence senior decision makers using strong commercial intuition and excellent narrative skills.
  • Build trusted relationships across the Foods business and collaborate closely with the wider Data & Analytics community.
  • Champion innovation by improving processes, promoting automation and adopting emerging Data and AI capabilities to unlock efficiency and empower self-serve insight.

Who you are

  • Strong technical capability in SQL, Python or similar tools with an appetite for emerging technologies including AI, machine learning and advanced analytics techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to simplify complex analysis into clear, influential narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Solid understanding of statistical methods and experiment design ensuring rigorous, accurate and reliable insight.
  • A proactive, self-starter mentality with the ability to manage multiple projects independently and deliver high quality work at pace.
  • Broad experience applying analytics to commercial challenges such as customer behaviour, performance, pricing, promotions, supply chain or finance.

What's in it for you?

Working at M&S means being part of something bigger - helping to deliver quality, value and service to millions of customers every day. We're inclusive, fast-moving and always evolving, with a strong sense of purpose and a focus on doing the right thing.

Here are just a few of the benefits that make working here even more rewarding:

  • 20% colleague discount on all M&S products and many third-party brands for you and someone in your household, available once you've completed your probation.
  • Competitive holiday allowance with the option to buy more.
  • Discretionary bonus schemes linked to your performance and ours.
  • Strong pension and life assurance to help plan for the future.
  • Tailored induction and training to support your development from day one.
  • Exclusive perks and savings through our M&S Choices portal.
  • Market-leading family policies, including parental, adoption and neonatal leave.
  • 24/7 wellbeing support, including virtual GP access and mental health services.
  • One paid volunteer day a year to support a cause that matters to you.
