Now, we\’re looking for an Energy Efficiency Manager who shares our passion for innovation, sustainability, and results and can help us supercharge energy performance across our iconic store estate and support centres.
The Role: Make Every Watt Count
In this high-impact role, you\’ll lead the charge on reducing energy and utility consumption across all M&S retail stores and support centres. From analysing data and driving performance improvements, to embedding energy efficiency into store renewals and future developments you\’ll be central to meeting our cost-saving and environmental goals.

What You\’ll Be Doing:
- Lead energy and utilities audits across the M&S estate to identify inefficiencies and implement targeted solutions
- Use data and performance insights to challenge the status quo, identify trends, and drive efficiency improvements
- Work closely with the energy bureau and other internal teams to deliver impactful energy projects and measure ROI
- Influence store and support centre operations by embedding energy efficiency into daily routines and long-term plans
- Deliver training and comms that inspire energy-conscious behaviours across all levels of the business
- Maintain compliance and best practice by managing ESOS and ISO50001 processes and reporting
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders from Store Directors to contractors to drive change at every level
What We\’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in energy efficiency, sustainability, or ESG within retail, commercial property, or related sectors
- Strong knowledge of building services engineering, BMS systems, and energy-saving technologies
- Excellent data analytics skills you\’re comfortable translating complex energy data into actionable insights
- Skilled communicator and influencer able to bring people on the journey and embed change
- Experience in energy audits, utility bill analysis, and performance tracking
- Familiarity with energy standards and certifications (e.g. ISO50001, LEED, ENERGY STAR)
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Environmental Engineering, Energy Management, Sustainability, or similar
