Join our team at M&S as a Customer Assistant in our Bakery section, where you\\\'ll become a champion of our delicious baked goods. Work Pattern
- Week 1: Tuesday 11:30 - 20:30; Friday 11:30 - 20:30; Saturday 4:30 - 12:30
- Week 2: Sunday 07:00 - 16:00; Thursday 11:30 - 20:30; Friday 09:30 - 18:30
Responsibilities
- Deliver a great customer experience on the shop floor and at service points
- Represent the brand and promote bakery products through remarkable service
- Utilise digital tools and channels to enhance the customer experience
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene
- Work flexibly across store areas as required
- Support a positive, inclusive store environment and respect colleagues and customers
- Act with pace and in line with SOPs, minimising waste and managing costs
Qualifications & Capabilities
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Digital confidence and ability to use digital tools (e.g., Sparks App)
- Team player with adaptability to changing retail demands
- Strong product knowledge and ability to sell and recommend products
- Ability to work across different areas of the store
- Ability to work quickly and accurately with attention to detail
- Committed to food safety, hygiene, and safe working practices
- Open to feedback and focused on continuous learning
Technical Skills / Experience
- Knowledge of customer shopping channels and digital tools
- Knowledge of VM principles and store operating standards
- Ability to identify selling opportunities and meet customer needs
- Experience working across the store to complete tasks correctly and on time
