Christmas Customer Assistant – Food (Night) – Metro Centre

Work Pattern: Friday 21:00‑06:00, Saturday 21:00‑06:00. Unsocial premium: + £3.00 p/h for hours worked between 22:00‑06:00.

As a Customer Assistant in our Foods section, you’ll become a champion of our high‑quality products, great value offers, and excellent customer service. We’re looking for passionate individuals who have knowledge of M&S Food products and are excited to share it with our customers.

You’ll be a brand ambassador, ready to recommend our newest food products and ensure customers feel valued every time they shop.

  • Ready to roll sleeves up, work hard, and go above and beyond.
  • Use digital tools such as the Sparks App and in‑store devices to enhance the customer experience.
  • Be a team player, creating an inclusive store environment and supporting colleagues and the community.
  • Flexible to work across various areas of the store, adapting to changing demands.

To deliver a great shopping experience, we need colleagues who put customers first, champion and promote our products, and continuously improve our service.

  • Serve customers efficiently, both on the shop floor and at service points.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and ensure shelves are stocked.
  • Meet daily sales targets, priorities, promotions, and selling opportunities.
  • Engage with customers, understand needs, make recommendations, and deliver remarkable service.
  • Build product knowledge to sell and recommend; training provided for digital tools and communication channels.
  • High levels of customer service.
