As an SPO, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure working environment for staff, visitors, and contractors, protecting company assets, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality service across all DCs. Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide professional security cover at M&S Distribution Centre.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service in line with Mitie and M&S key values.
  • Maintain professional standards of appearance, conduct, and incident reporting.
  • Monitor access control systems, CCTV, and vehicle movements in accordance with site procedures.
  • Conduct regular internal and external patrols to ensure site safety and security.
  • Support the prevention and investigation of theft, stock loss, and unauthorised access.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, alarms, and emergencies following site protocols.
  • Assist site management and permanent SPO teams to maintain smooth and compliant operations.
  • Work flexibly to meet operational requirements, including short-notice assignments.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and company security policies.
  • Follow all Mitie and Group Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Report any hazards, risks, or incidents immediately to your line manager.
  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE correctly and responsibly.
  • Identify and report any training or equipment needs promptly.
