Location: Hounslow, West London. Hybrid, 2 days onsite required.

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: £90,000 - £100,000 per annum + 15%-25% bonus

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Cloud Architect to join our clients dynamic team. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders across the Information & Technology organisation and third-party partners to define requirements, drive cloud migration efforts, optimise cloud environments, and ensure adherence to security and compliance standards.

As an individual contributor, the Cloud Architect will focus on delivering scalable, efficient Azure-based solutions that align with organizational objectives while maintaining a secure and reliable cloud ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Cloud-based solutions, including network architecture, storage, compute, and security configurations to meet business needs and support scalability.
  • Lead the planning and execution of migration initiatives, transitioning on-premises applications and data to the Cloud while minimising downtime and disruption.
  • Continuously assess cloud environments to optimize performance and resource usage, implementing cost-control strategies and recommending efficient solutions.
  • Ensure all Cloud solutions meet security standards and regulatory requirements by implementing best practices for identity management, data protection, and network security.
  • Design and manage automated infrastructure provisioning and deployments using industry-leading tools for repeatable and scalable operations.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and failover strategies to ensure high availability, business continuity, and data protection.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand business requirements, provide technical advisory, and ensure solutions align with organizational goals.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud architectures, processes, and configurations, facilitating knowledge sharing and training of team members.
  • Implement robust monitoring tools to track Azure environment health and performance, proactively identify potential issues, and resolve incidents to maintain system reliability.

Requirements:

  • Proven ability to design, deploy, and manage large-scale cloud environments across leading platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Comprehensive understanding of core cloud services including compute, storage, networking, databases, serverless functions, and application hosting.
  • Proficiency in cloud networking and identity management across major providers.
  • Experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates, or Bicep.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or cloud-native DevOps tools.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security features and experience ensuring compliance with standards like GDPR, HIPAA, or ISO 27001.
  • Ability to monitor and optimize cloud resource usage and costs using tools like Cost Management dashboards.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving complex cloud issues using monitoring and logging tools.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting technical solutions.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of hybrid cloud configurations and integration of on-premises environments with cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with multi-cloud strategies and tools like Anthos or CloudFormation.
  • In-depth understanding of advanced cloud networking concepts, including network segmentation and DDoS protection.
  • Experience with cloud-based data services and AI/ML tools to support data-driven solutions and enhanced analytics.
  • Understanding of Zero Trust principles and secure environment implementation.
