We are supporting a major UK infrastructure organisation delivering a nationally significant energy programme as part of the transition to a low-carbon future. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of a large-scale High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) project. This role will focus on the execution of a major civil and building package within a complex, multi-disciplinary environment.
The Role
Reporting to a Senior Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the delivery of a significant project package within a large infrastructure programme. This is a site-focused role, requiring strong leadership, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple interfaces across contractors and stakeholders. You will play a key role in ensuring delivery is safe, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of a major civil/building package within a large infrastructure project
- Manage contractor performance and ensure alignment with programme objectives
- Take full ownership of contract management, including change control and interface management
- Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring effective execution through all phases
- Drive a strong health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, commercial, and delivery functions
- Monitor project performance, risks, and costs, taking proactive action where required
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
About You
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects in regulated environments. You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale civil or infrastructure projects (Β£100m+)
- Strong knowledge of contract management frameworks such as NEC3 or similar
- Experience managing contractors and complex project interfaces
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A strong understanding of project governance, controls, and delivery processes
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in engineering, construction, or project management
Desirable Experience
- Experience working on HVDC, substations, or mission-critical infrastructure
- Background within energy, utilities, or major infrastructure projects
