We are currently seeking a Senior Construction Manager to join a major transmission infrastructure programme, supporting the delivery of High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) projects as part of a long-term pathway to 2030. This role sits within a project delivery team responsible for civils works packages on onshore AC substations and HVDC converter stations, working closely with project teams and supply chain partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the key on-site representative, serving as the primary point of contact for contractors and stakeholders.
- Ensure all site operations comply with health and safety legislation, company standards, and construction regulations.
- Work closely with contractors and operations teams to deliver works safely, on time, and in line with environmental standards.
- Monitor site performance, ensuring compliance with planning consents, safety requirements, and project KPIs.
- Maintain regular reporting and oversight of construction activities.
- Build strong working relationships with contractors, suppliers, and local communities while promoting a positive safety culture.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in on-site construction management or supervision within the civils or construction sector.
- Experience in electricity transmission infrastructure such as substations or HVDC projects is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, including CDM 2015 regulations.
- Experience coordinating multiple contractors and subcontractors to deliver projects to schedule and budget.
- Experience with quality assurance processes, including inspection and test plans.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to challenge and resolve issues effectively.
- Full UK driving licence required due to site travel.
