We are supporting a major infrastructure organisation delivering large-scale capital projects across the UK. Due to increased project demand, we are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to support the commercial delivery of high-value projects.
The Role
As Contracts Manager, you will play a key role in negotiating and managing contracts across major infrastructure projects, typically ranging from Β£20M to Β£500M. You will be responsible for both pre-contract negotiations and post-contract commercial management, ensuring value for money and successful project delivery. This role requires strong stakeholder engagement, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage complex contractual and financial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions for high-value infrastructure projects
- Lead commercial management activities throughout the project lifecycle
- Manage cost reporting, forecasting, and budget control
- Ensure effective change management and compensation event processes
- Support payment and expenditure management, including cost estimating
- Provide robust post-contract commercial support aligned with project objectives
- Work closely with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve issues and drive performance
- Ensure compliance with commercial governance frameworks and internal processes
About You
We are looking for an experienced commercial professional with a strong background in contract management within large-scale project environments. You will bring:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
- Minimum 5+ years post-graduate experience in commercial or contract roles
- Strong experience in contract negotiation and administration
- Knowledge of NEC and/or FIDIC contract frameworks
- Experience in cost management, forecasting, and reporting
- Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to influence, negotiate, and resolve commercial challenges
