An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to join a leading organisation within the renewable energy sector on a 6-month contract basis. Working as part of a high-performing Centre of Excellence team, you will initially oversee the financial control of an operational onshore wind portfolio, ensuring robust financial governance, smooth reporting processes, and compliance with statutory requirements. This is a hybrid role requiring 50% office attendance in either Glasgow or Perth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end close process, reviewing and approving key journals to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure compliance with group financial control policies.
- Manage year-end and half-year reporting activities, including preparation and audit of statutory accounts.
- Act as the key contact for external auditors, leading annual statutory audits and collaborating with wider finance teams.
- Support the transition of completed development projects into the operational portfolio.
- Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, reporting standards, and controls.
- Manage, mentor, and develop finance team members, including accountants and finance analysts.
About You
- A recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong practice or industry experience with up-to-date knowledge of IFRS and FRS101 accounting standards.
- Proven experience preparing high-quality financial statements and managing external audit processes.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to resolve complex finance issues.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with experience managing multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- A solid understanding of financial systems, controls, and general accounting procedures.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
