CRM Strategist

Hybrid 2/3 days onsite in London

The Role

You'll own the thinking behind your clients' CRM programmes, turning customer insight, data and business goals into focused briefs and strategic frameworks that drive effective creative and measurable outcomes. You'll define who we're talking to, what we're saying and why it matters, while working alongside a CRM Strategist and Braze developers to bring programmes to life.

Sitting within the Creative team, you'll keep strategy, creative and delivery connected. You'll write briefs, frameworks, quality-check work against the original objective, and use performance data to continuously improve programme effectiveness.

You will be expected to take on significant responsibility, managing your own briefs and expanding your expertise in strategic planning, commercial awareness, and client relations.

Success in your first six months will look like a strong understanding of client programmes, a briefing process that creates clarity and momentum, reliable campaign delivery, and growing confidence in making strategic recommendations independently. We are looking for a forward-thinking individual capable of tackling the intricate hurdles confronting modern businesses across all levels. It is essential that you grasp the fast-paced shifts in the AI-driven corporate world and exhibit the nimbleness necessary to adapt to its constantly changing demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the lifecycle strategy for your clients, from onboarding through retention and win-back, within the direction set with the team.
  • Turn behavioural and performance data into creative briefs. Naming the audience, the message, and the metric you expect to move.
  • Write clear briefs and strategic frameworks for copy, design, and art direction that give them the context to make work that performs, not just work that looks good.
  • Review creative against the brief before it ships, and call it out where it drifts from the goal.
  • Be accountable and defensible for all your strategic thinking with clear rationale.
  • Partner with development and account teams to take campaigns from brief to live, giving them the audience and segment logic they need to build.
  • Help run the testing roadmap across subject lines, timing, content, and creative, and bring the results back to shape what you do next.
  • Own monthly reporting for your clients: show what worked, what didn't, and what changes next.
  • Build your craft fast. Bring your own ideas, take feedback well, and grow.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Some hands-on experience in CRM or lifecycle marketing with agency or in-house experience and a clear appetite to grow into strategy.
  • A developing strategic instinct: you can look at customer data and a client's goal and start to form a point of view on who to talk to, what to say, and why it really matters.
  • Able to write strategic briefs and outline and articulate strategic frameworks clearly.
  • Comfortable reading performance data and curious about what it's telling you to do next, not just what it shows.
  • An understanding of how segmentation and audience logic shape what gets built.
  • Direct Braze experience is a plus, but a willingness to learn the platform matters more.
  • A clear communicator who can hold their own in client and team conversations, and explain a recommendation without hiding behind jargon.
  • Organised enough to keep several clients moving at once without dropping the detail.
  • Respect for the craft and an instinct for working well with creative teams.
  • Familiarity with deliverability basics, or experience with a second CRM/ESP platform (Klaviyo, Iterable, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Customer.io or similar).
