The company\’s main areas of operation are the South and South West of England, the Midlands and Wales.Position The Project Manager manages construction projects, ensuring profitable, timely, and faultless delivery while upholding Markey Construction\’s standards of safety and quality. The role combines operational leadership with commercial awareness, requiring foresight to anticipate challenges, implement innovative solutions, and inspire teams to consistently perform at their best. The Project Manager builds strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors, fosters collaboration across teams, and mentors others.Core ResponsibilitiesProvides leadership and direction across all aspects of contract execution on assigned projects.Oversees subcontractor selection, chairs pre-let meetings, and manages daily performance of all internal and external teams.Promotes teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement within project teams.Supports and drives the Markey culture, values and business ethos.Client & Stakeholder EngagementBuilds a good rapport with clients, consultants, and key members of the supply chain, ensuring open dialogue throughout the project.Maintains high standards of site presentation, tidiness, and public interface to positively reflect the company.Ensures positive engagement with supply chain partners, developing strong relationships where adding value is a \”given.\”Develops detailed project programmes, looking ahead to predict and resolve challenges with smart, cost-effective solutions.Monitors progress against the programme and takes corrective action where required.Leads mobilisation, contract planning, preliminaries management and project delivery to achieve time, cost, and quality objectives.Produces information required schedules linked to the construction programme.Records and reports all areas of delay or disruption to the progress of the works and promotes resolution of issues.Commercial & ProcurementWorks closely with the Project Surveyor to manage procurement schedules and cost reporting.Compiles and manages the project risk register in conjunction with the Project Surveyor.Quality, Safety & ComplianceEnsures compliance with legislation, company policies, and Markey\’s Health & Safety and Environmental standards; champions zero-accident culture.Drives delivery of Project Quality Plans and ensures prompt completion of O&M manuals in line with contract requirements.Implements and monitors strategies for project delivery control, including Contract Monitor, Project Reviews, and progress reporting.Business DevelopmentMaximises opportunities to strengthen existing client relationships and secure repeat business.Collaborates with wider group companies to support business development and cross-selling of services.Requirements Managed and delivered multi-storey new-build residential developments (fast-track)Experience in traditional, steel-frame and timber-frame constructionHealthcare, residential and care/retirement projects – extensive sector knowledge, including compliance with specialist standards.Highways works (Section 38)Adopted Section Agreements (104/106)Scaffolding inspection – trained and competent in inspection and certification procedures.Other information Our roles are full time, Monday to Friday – 45 hours per weekWe are offering a salary of up to £68,000 dependent on experience, plus a car allowance.Our company benefits packageLife Assurance cover – x2 annual salaryPerformance related pay schemeEnhanced pensions contributions – 5% employer contributionsFlexible holidays – buy and sell optionsCycle to work schemeMoney @ Work Schemes – Savings, loans and flexible creditDiscount on a range of products and services within Markey Group
