Our client is seeking an experienced Trade Compliance Specialist to support customs operations and regulatory compliance across UK and EU markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of trade compliance reports and KPIs
- Classify goods correctly using appropriate tariff codes
- Complete and monitor import, export, transit, ICMS and ENS declarations
- Provide UK import guidance and liaise with HMRC
- Manage CITES permits, applications, notifications and trackers
- Audit customs entries to ensure compliance with UK/EU regulations
- Maintain accurate records, trackers, SharePoint documentation and invoicing
- Support internal projects and improve operational efficiencies
- Build strong relationships across departments and external partners
Skills & Experience
- 3-5 years experience in customs or trade compliance (corporate or brokerage environment)
- Strong knowledge of UK & EU customs regulations and documentation
- Experience with CITES permits (desirable)
- Solid understanding of commodity codes, duties, valuation and Incoterms
- Confident communicator with strong organisational skills
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible approach, with occasional weekend work as required
